Cloisters Oven
Baked Oatcakes
6oz oatmeal
1/2 teasp, salt
2oz plain flour Warm water
1oz margarine
Mix dry ingredients. Melt margarine and add, plus a little warm water
to make a stiff dough. Roll out and cut into rounds. Place on baking
tray and bake in moderate oven 350°F. Turn once or twice until dry.
Store in airtight tin when cold.
Cheese Oatcakes
4oz fine oatmeal
4oz finely grated cheese
4oz self raising flour 1/4 teasp,
salt
4oz margarine
Rub margarine into flour and oatmeal, add grated cheese and salt.
Knead well,
roll out thinly and cut into rounds, Bake at 325°F till crisp.
